Preserve Your Memories: Analog to Digital Conversions

Do you have cherished memories stored on old cassette tapes or vinyl records that you can no longer easily access? Perhaps you have original band recordings that are at risk of degrading over time, or beloved albums you want to enjoy without causing wear and tear to your precious vinyl. Our analog to digital conversion service is designed to help you preserve and enjoy these irreplaceable audio treasures in modern, versatile formats.

What We Offer

We specialize in converting your cassette tapes and vinyl records into high-quality digital files. Using premium equipment, we ensure that your audio is captured with exceptional fidelity. Whether you need your recordings in MP3, WAV, FLAC, or CD format, we can accommodate your specific requirements.

Why Convert Your Analog Audio?

  • Preservation: Analog formats like tapes and vinyl can degrade over time, leading to a loss of sound quality. Digital conversion preserves your audio indefinitely, protecting your memories and unique recordings for future generations.
  • Accessibility & Portability: Once converted to a digital format, your audio can be easily played on any modern device, such as smartphones, computers, or car stereos. You can also upload them to online services like YouTube, making them accessible anywhere with an internet connection.
  • Convenience: No more searching for a working cassette player or worrying about scratching your valuable vinyl. Digital files offer ultimate convenience and ease of use.
  • Protection: Listen to your favorite records without the worry of wearing them out. We can create digital copies, allowing you to enjoy the music while keeping your original vinyl safe.

Our Process

We take great care with your original materials. Your tapes and records are handled with the utmost respect and are played on quality gear to ensure the best possible transfer. We work with you to determine the ideal digital format for your needs, whether it’s a compressed MP3 for portability, a high-fidelity WAV or FLAC file for archival purposes, or a traditional audio CD.

Don’t let your valuable audio memories fade away. Contact us today to learn more about how we can help you bring your analog recordings into the digital age!

How to Register Your Domain and Point it to Our Servers

Why You Should Own Your Domain Name
It is crucial that you, the business owner, personally register and pay for your domain name. This ensures you always have full ownership and control of your most important online asset. If a developer or hosting company owns your domain and you lose contact with them, it can be very difficult to regain control of your website and email.

These instructions will guide you through registering a domain with our recommended registrar, 1stdomains.nz, and pointing it to the Compression.NZ servers.

Part 1: Registering Your Domain at 1stdomains.nz

  1. Go to the 1stdomains registration page: Here
  2. In the search box, enter your desired domain name (e.g., your business name) and click Check.
  3. The site will show you available options. Select the one you want (e.g., `.co.nz` or `.nz`) and proceed with the registration.
  4. Follow the prompts to create your account and complete the payment process.

IMPORTANT WARNING:

During checkout, you ONLY need to pay for the “Domain Name Registration”. Decline any add-ons or upsells for “Web Hosting” or “Email Hosting”. Compression.NZ provides these services for you.

Part 2: Pointing Your Domain to Our Servers

Once your domain is registered, you need to update its “Name Servers”. This tells the internet where to find your website.

  1. Log in to your account at 1stdomains.nz.
  2. In the top right of the page, click Manage, then select Manage Domains and Services from the dropdown menu.
  3. Find your new domain in the list and click it
  4. Scroll down to Name Server Delegation and click Update Name Servers.
  5. On the next screen, make the following changes:
    • Set Parking Status to Off.
    • In the Name Server 1 field, enter: ns.nzhost.net.nz
    • In the Name Server 2 field, enter: ns2.nzhost.net.nz
  6. Click Update or Save to confirm your changes.

What’s Next?

  1. Keep your 1stdomains username and password in a safe place. You will need it to renew your domain (usually annually). 1stdomains will email you a reminder before it expires.
  2. Contact me! Once you have completed the steps above, let me know, and I will begin setting up your website and email.

The web server is where all of the files for your website are stored. We offer hosting which is managed here is NZ and works.

This only has to be setup once, and all plans are unlimited (with reasonable use) data. Email hosting and forwarding is included at no extra cost.

email Email

This is where we setup how anyname@yourcompany.nz works. You can have an unlimited amount of emails, forwarded to your GMail address, or we can setup yourname@yourcompany.nz as an mailbox and configure it with your client using pop3/smtp servers.

We recommend using a GMail address, which we can setup to receive and send from yourname@yourcompany.nz, This also looks much more professional to customers signwritten and on business cards.

design_services Site Design

This is all about getting the look and feel of your site sorted. It involves designing things like logos, headers, images, and colour schemes.

The process can be quick if you already have a template, or it can take longer for a fully custom design. We can design logos and take photos for you. You can also supply your own materials from a designer—the more you can provide, the better!
